What can I do to keep my pet healthy?

Connor Pet Health - we know that keeping our pets happy, healthy and engaged is extremely important part of all of our lives.

We all want our pets to have a long and healthy life. Sometimes, we just don’t know what to do for them! When it comes to our pets, we want them to be healthy and happy. We want to give them the best life possible for as long as they have with us! But what can you do to keep your pet in tip-top shape? Here are some helpful tips on how you can keep your pet happy and healthy.

6 Helpful Tips on How You Can Keep Your Pet Happy and Healthy.

1.Feed your pet a high-quality food. A good rule of thumb is to feed them what you would eat if you were the size and shape they are. You also want to make sure that it has all the nutrients an animal needs for their specific breed or species, as well as any necessary vitamins and minerals (which should be listed on packaging).

2. Keep their water bowl clean! If there’s anything I’ve learned over my years with animals, it’s that they know when something doesn’t taste right in their dish–even if we can’t tell a difference. Every few days, give out fresh water from the tap until it tastes like normal again. It takes time before stubborn stains dissolve too, which is why you should use a water filter with some amount of chlorine in it.

3. Brush their teeth! Believe it or not, pets can have dental problems just like humans do. It’s important to brush your pet’s teeth regularly so that they maintain good oral health and hygiene. You don’t need to buy expensive toothpaste; if your animal has small incisors–like most cats–just mash up a bit of canned cat food on the end of an old toothbrush for them to lick off. Rabbits will also enjoy this as well because they are herbivores who eat mostly hay all day long! If your dog or cat doesn’t have any front teeth (which would be unusual), then you can use a damp finger to rub their teeth in circles.

4. Play with your pet! This doesn’t have to just be tossing around the ball when you’re outside or letting them chase after a toy mouse on the floor. Give them some time for play and exercise every day, even if it’s only five minutes at a time–they will appreciate this much more than they would an extra treat or two from the kitchen cabinet. Make sure that you are taking care of yourself too while playing; don’t forget about how important breaks are for both parties involved (you AND your animal). Remember not to wear out young animals by spending hours each day playing fetch indoors, which is why many owners find themselves buying pricey toys like a tire jumper or a cat tower.

5. Take your pet outside! You should spend time with your animal every day, and walking around the block is an excellent way to do so. Cats love climbing trees–something that can be difficult for them in living rooms–and dogs need their daily walks too. If you have any other animals at home who are kept indoors all the time, make sure they get some fresh air as well by opening up windows from time to time during warmer months of the year when it’s sunny out (but remember to close them immediately if thunder starts sounding). Keep in mind that going outside might not always be possible depending on where you live; however, there are plenty of things you can do inside the house to keep your pet happy and healthy.

6. Get plenty of sleep! It’s important for you AND your animal that they get enough rest at night, especially if it is a senior citizen who needs their energy during the day or an anxious creature who doesn’t want to be alone in the dark. How can you tell if someone isn’t getting enough sleep? One way is by how much they shed–animals often start losing more fur when they are not sleeping well because hair follicles do not regenerate as quickly due to stress from lack of shut-eye. If this becomes a chronic problem, then I recommend consulting with one of our veterinarians on what might be wrong (excessive scratching could also indicate fleas

So there you have it. If you want to keep your pet happy and healthy, follow these six steps in      order to ensure that they live a long and healthy life with you!
