How should I care for my pet?

Connor Pet Health - we know that keeping our pets happy, healthy and engaged is extremely important part of all of our lives.

It’s not always easy to know how to care for your pet. Pets have different needs and preferences, and what works for one might not work for another. Whether you’re a first-time pet owner or experienced, here are some helpful tips on caring for your pet.

9 Helpful Tips on Caring Your Pet

1.Have a vet check your new pet over to make sure that everything is in order, and get them vaccinated for various illnesses.

2. Keep your pets on flea treatments so they don’t get infested with parasites. You can also invest in an insect growth regulator (IGR) if you have problems with mosquitoes or ants inside the house.

3. Brushing your animal’s fur will help reduce hairballs which could lead to vomiting or choking. If there are any matted areas of fur then it needs to be cut out and trimmed close by scissors. It may take some time but this will prevent injury from pulling too hard while trying to brush through those mats! Don’t forget to trim their nails so they don’t scratch furniture.

4. If you have an outdoor pet or one that is allowed in the house, make sure to keep them on a schedule of vaccinations and checkups at least once every year for maintenance. The vet can also help with any other health concerns such as fleas or parasites, food allergies/intolerances, intestinal issues (such as diarrhea), ear infections (also called otitis externa) etc…

5. The veterinarian will ask about recent changes in behavior or eating habits. These could be signs of internal problems going undetected by owners whose schedules are too busy to notice subtle changes – take your animal’s well being seriously!

6. Dogs need exercise daily while cats will be happy with a few hours of playtime.

7. Cats can get their exercise by going up and down the stairs or playing in the garden, while dogs need to go for walks at least twice per day.

8. If you have more than one pet then providing plenty of space is key – they’ll thank you!

9. Lastly, make sure that your animal has fresh water every day (but don’t forget to change it out). They may also enjoy treats such as fruit slices or hard-boiled eggs from time to time just as long as those are healthy options.

So, now that you know 9 helpful tips on caring for your pets, please keep in mind to take care of yourself and the health of your pet. It’s important to make sure all animals are healthy by keeping up with their vaccinations, proper nutrition and plenty of exercise. Make a commitment today to have the best year yet! Stay healthy!
